Commonwealth Care Alliance® Recognized as a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion

CCA earned a top score of 100 on the national Disability Equality Index® initiative

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Commonwealth Care Alliance® (CCA) has earned recognition as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” on the 2023 Disability Equality Index® (DEI) with a score of 100. Administered by Disability:IN and The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), the DEI is the world’s most comprehensive benchmarking tool for companies to measure disability workplace inclusion. This is the second consecutive year that CCA has earned a spot on the index.

CCA is a mission-driven healthcare services organization that offers high-quality health plans and care delivery programs designed for individuals with significant needs. With offerings in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Michigan, and California, CCA delivers comprehensive, integrated, and person-centered care by coordinating the services of local staff, provider partners, and community organizations.

“It is an honor to be recognized for our commitment to making our workplace more equitable for differently abled colleagues and for our members, who are regularly invited to come onsite to participate in conversations and listening sessions that continue to shape CCA,” said Chris Palmieri, CCA President and CEO. “It is especially poignant that we have earned this score to further commemorate CCA’s 20 years of uncommon care®. This achievement is a marker of our dedication to diversity, inclusion and a culture of excellence internally, all of which comprise the great heart and spirit that make us unique as an organization and allow us to deliver on our mission every day.”

“As a Commonwealth Care Alliance board member with a significant disability, I’m exceptionally proud and conscious of the effort from management that goes into including people with all disabilities into the organization at all levels,” said Charlie Carr, legislative liaison for the Disability Policy Consortium and principal of Charlie Carr Consulting. “Coming up on the 33rd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, CCA continues with its significant corporate philosophy and steadfast commitment to recruit, hire, train and retain people with disabilities throughout the enterprise.”

With a long record of caring for those with significant needs, CCA ensures individuals with disabilities have the resources they need to succeed in the workplace and beyond. From recruitment and training to employment and retention, inclusivity and accessibility are at the forefront of CCA’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategies. CCA received top marks in part for its:
