Firefly Health to collaborate with other health care leaders to develop standards for virtual care
WATERTOWN, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Firefly Health is proud to announce its participation in the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) 2023 Virtual Care Pilot, an initiative that aims to define and elevate the standards of virtual care.
After a competitive selection process—over 100 organizations applied—only a select group was chosen for the program. Participants demonstrated a readiness and ability to lead change at the forefront of health care quality, highlighting a dedication to innovation and excellence that aligns with NCQA’s mission to improve the quality of care for all.
“Firefly Health’s work is grounded in leveraging the opportunity virtual care affords to reimagine how patients interact with our healthcare system for the better. We have invested in the technology infrastructure and internal processes necessary to form long-term relationships with patients that produce industry leading health outcomes and satisfaction scores for patients,” said Nisha Basu MD, MPH, Senior Vice President of Clinical at Firefly Health. “Virtual care can and should match or surpass the care and quality standards of traditional, in-person, primary care. We are eager to join forces with NCQA and other top organizations in digital health to make that ideal a reality. These new standards will help organizations across healthcare to recognize quality, patient-centric virtual care and will help future organizations to maximize the true impact virtual care can have on patients.”
The NCQA Virtual Care Pilot presents a unique opportunity for participants to leverage technology, foster collaboration with other leaders and create a lasting impact on virtual patient care. Firefly Health will work closely with NCQA and other participating organizations to provide support, share knowledge, gather insights and define best practices.
The dedication and excellence already shown by these organizations promises development of a program that enhances existing virtual care practices and improves quality in new methods of care delivery.
